The Team

Alistair Agnew - Qm Group CEO

Alistair Agnew joined Qm Group in 2001 as Sales Director and has led the team that has trebled the size of the business in just five years. Before joining Qm, he was Sales Director of Health Media, a company specialising in the delivery of private portal Internet services to health professionals. In this role, Alistair was responsible for growing the company's subscriber base from 6,000 to 60,000. He played a key role as part of the company's senior management team that raised £6M to fund future growth.

Prior to that he spent sixteen years with Yamaha Kemble Music UK where he held a number of senior roles culminating in his appointment as the Divisional Head for the company's Electronic Keyboards operation.

A talented pianist and presenter who has performed at venues around the world, Alistair is currently responsible for all of Qm Group's sales activity and in December 2004 he played a key role in the management buyout of Qm Group backed by Advantage Capital from the company's original founders.

Terry Green - Deputy Chairman

Terry Green's career stretches back more than twenty years and he has held senior sales, marketing and general management roles across a variety of sectors. An economics graduate of Warwick University, Terry's early career included a spell as Sales Director with mobile phone airtime company UniqueAir. After that he moved to S P Tyres UK Ltd and was responsible for re-launching the Dunlop Tyre brand in the UK.

In 1991 he co-founded Qm Group with a colleague and became the voice of "Cashier Number 3 Please". He has overseen growth from a start up company to its current position as the UK's leading provider of queue management solutions with systems installed in retailers, financial services providers, travel operators and the public sector in countries throughout the world.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Royal Society for Arts & Commerce, Terry was one of a small group of industrialists seconded to the DTI's Innovation Unit to promote innovation best practice in UK commerce. Terry founded the Sunday Times Enterprise Network and has published numerous papers on marketing and business strategy including authoring Marketing Making It Work For You - a self help marketing tool kit endorsed by the DTI. He is a regular speaker at marketing and business conferences both in the UK and abroad.

Marlies Spiekman - Chief Financial Officer

Marlies Spiekman qualified as a chartered accountant with a big four practice in the UK. She joined Qm Group in December 2005 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Qm she held senior financial management roles across retail, fragrance and multi-brand companies.

During her career she has held high profile positions with a variety of companies including three years as Vice President of Finance And Operations with luxury retailer Penhaligons as well as holding the position of Finance Director of LVMH's leather good division which included brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dior and Berlutti.

Marlies holds an MA in Mathematics from Oxford University and is responsible for running all financial aspects of Qm Group's operation.

Bernie Williams - Joint Managing Director (Operations)

Bernie Williams joined Qm Group in 1999 having previously spent 17 years working for Yamaha Kemble Music UK where in his role as Service Manager he was responsible for running a nationwide team of service engineers as well as handling all facilities management and administration for the company.

A qualified electronic engineer, Bernie is currently responsible for managing all operational aspects of Qm Group's business from new product development and manufacturing through to deployment, post sales support, service and maintenance and he currently manages a team of around 50 people.

Bernie is married with two teenage children.

Our People

We employ a team of engineers and designers who we refer to as "Inventors" because that is what they do.

The other people who form the Qm team include researchers, industry and legislation experts, professional administrators and service engineers.

We are proud of all of our people: many have been with us since the start in 1991.

It is due to our people that Qm remains regarded as the foremost source of knowledge on our specialist subject, that of Queueing.
